Sooty Style Guide

Sooty Style Guide

At Dot Dash Design, we”ve been privileged to have created a brand new style guide which embraces the spirit and appeal of the nations favourite teddy bear.

Sooty was first discovered in Blackpool on July 19th 1948, when Harry Corbett bought the original puppet for 7s 6d (37.5p) at a novelty shop while on holiday with his family.

Within four years – having won a television talent show – Sooty was performing with Harry each week on the BBC, combining magic tricks and slapstick routines. Later Harry introduced other puppet characters to the show, most notably Sweep and Soo which have become best friends and loveable favourites ever since. The Sooty Show now has a place in the Guinness Book of Records as the longest running children”s television show ever, and remarkably Soooty celebrates his 65th Anniversary in July 2013.

Commissioned by Redan Alchemy and Tivoli Media, the guide includes brand new photography and character art, exciting new graphics and product ideas to inspire all age groups.
