Dot Dash Design Studio enjoyed an exciting first show at Brand Licensing Europe 2015 which took place from the 13th-15th October at London’s Olympia exhibition Centre.
DDD have been walking the floor at BLE for 6 years but this was the first time we have taken a stand in the art and design section. After successfully launching our own print and pattern collection at Surtex in New York earlier this year we felt it was a great opportunity to build on that success on our home turf here in London.
It was really beneficial to have a base at the show for all our existing clients as well as providing a great showcase for our new collections. The show proved to be successful in that we received enquiries for print and pattern as well as our core style guide business on the stand itself.
There was a real buzz at the show this year, the aisles packed with visitors as soon as the doors opened on Tuesday morning – with some really good enquiries from retailers, producers and manufacturers . Our Tutti fruits characters received lots of attention, and we are hoping to build on that interest in the coming months.
Our press packs, postcard packs and pin badges went down a treat at the show, it’s definitely worth going that extra mile with giveaways to attract attention from potential new clients.
It was also great to get to know our fellow exhibitors (Hello Monkey and Pango Productions) – who were all lovely, and amazing to meet in person some of our instagram friends, in particular Jahane and Sue from Yellow House, and Natalie from Natalie Williamson designs! They are all a wonderfully talented bunch and we will definitely be keeping in touch ☺
We would definitely look at exhibiting next year but are a bit concerned about the removal of the art and design stairway, as it may reduce footfall to that area of the show. It would be interesting to hear what our fellow exhibitors think!
All in all a fantastic show. Yay! We did it!!
